About Sudoku Games
Sudoku is one of the world's favourite number puzzles, even though it needs no arithmetic at all. You fill a grid so that every row, every column and every box holds each number exactly once, starting from a few given clues. Every move is a small deduction: this box is missing a 4, and the rows and columns around it leave only one square where the 4 can go. A well-made sudoku has exactly one solution and can be finished by logic alone, without guessing.
Sudoku Sprint turns sudoku into a race. Instead of one big 9×9 grid, you solve three mini sudokus on 6×6 grids, with boxes of two rows by three columns and the numbers 1 to 6, against a single clock of just under two minutes. The first grid is a warm-up, the second has fewer clues, and the third asks for one extra deduction. Tap a square and then a number to set a carved stone in a raked-sand zen garden, keep a quick flow going to double and triple your points, use Notes for pencil marks and the Hint when you are stuck, and take care: a wrong number costs five seconds and the clean-grid bonus. Time left at the end becomes bonus points, and every full clear goes on a fastest-time board.
The 6×6 grid is also the friendliest way to learn sudoku, because the same techniques work on a smaller board. Play free in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Frequently asked questions
What is a 6x6 sudoku?
A mini sudoku on a 6×6 grid divided into six boxes of two rows and three columns. Every row, column and box holds the numbers 1 to 6 exactly once. The rules are the same as in the classic 9×9 sudoku, just smaller and faster.
Do I need to be good at maths to play sudoku?
No. The numbers are only symbols and no adding up is involved: sudoku is a logic puzzle about where each number can still go.
Does every puzzle have a unique solution?
Yes. Every grid in Sudoku Sprint has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone, without guessing.
Can I play sudoku on my phone?
Yes. Sudoku Sprint is made for touch: tap a square, then tap a number on the pad under the board. On a computer, click, or use the arrow keys and the number keys 1 to 6.
