How to play Marble Rush
Press a key, click or tap to start. On a phone, allow motion access when your browser asks and hold the phone comfortably: that angle counts as level.
Tilt the board to roll the marble: tilt the phone, press the arrow keys or WASD, or hold a finger or the mouse down and drag the way you want it to tip.
Follow the painted blue line from the start pad over the brass studs, steering around the holes.
Lean back to brake before walls and bends. Pass a revolving gate on the side that turns your way, and lean away from magnets.
If the marble drops into a hole, it goes back to the last stud you passed and the clock loses three seconds.
Roll the marble into the brass cup on all three boards before the 118-second clock runs out.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Tap, click or any key | Start a run (and allow motion access on a phone the first time) |
| Tilt the phone | Lean the board: the marble rolls toward the side you lower |
| Arrow keys or WASD | Lean the board the same way: tap for a nudge, hold to lean fully |
| Hold and drag (finger or mouse) | Lean the board the way you drag; let go to level it |
| Tilt or lean back toward level | Brake the marble before a hole, a wall or a bend |
Tips
Small tilts go a long way. The response is gentle near level and strong near the edge, so steer with small movements and save big leans for long, clear straights. On the keyboard, tap rather than hold when you only need a nudge.
Brake before every bend, not in it. A marble that reaches a corner slowly can be steered around the hole waiting beside it; a fast one slides straight in.
Never creep past a hole or stop next to one: a slow marble drops as soon as its middle slips over the rim. Pass holes with a little speed and a clear gap.
Watch which way a revolving gate turns and pass on the side where its bar moves with you: it will sweep the marble through instead of knocking it back.
Magnets pull hardest when you are slow. Lean away before you reach the red field ring and keep rolling past it; if the marble sticks, tilt firmly away from the magnet.
A hole costs three seconds and sends you back to the last stud, so a steady line usually beats a risky fast one, especially on the third board.
About Marble Rush
Marble Rush is a free 3D tilt maze game. A wooden labyrinth sits on a potting bench in a sunlit greenhouse, a chrome marble waits on its start pad, and a painted blue line shows the way to a brass cup. Tilt your phone and the whole board leans with you: lower one side a little and the marble starts to roll, tip it back and it slows down. It is the classic ball-in-a-maze toy, the wooden labyrinth game with holes all over the board, turned into a race against the clock that you play right in your browser, with no app to install.
Every run is three boards in a row, one from each of three difficulty tiers, so the run you play is rarely the one you played last. The first board is a gentle warm-up with wide lanes and a line that stays well clear of the holes, so anyone can finish it. The second brings the holes closer: hole gates and a guarded goal pocket, two big revolving gates, or a switchback with holes hugging both rails. The third is the finale: a narrow chute that drops toward a pit, a mill of spinning gates, or an alley of horseshoe magnets that drag the steel marble toward the holes. Each board can also come mirrored, and every board of a tier is tuned to take about as long as the others.
The physics is what makes a marble maze game worth playing. The marble builds up speed on the long straights, clacks off the wooden rails, scrapes along them and is pulled toward any hole it rolls onto. A slow marble drops as soon as it slips over a hole's rim, while a fast one only drops if it crosses near the middle, so speed is both your best friend and your biggest risk. A revolving gate sweeps the marble along if you pass on the side that turns your way and knocks it back if you do not, and a magnet keeps pulling until you lean away. Drop into a hole and three seconds come off the clock, then the marble goes back to the last brass stud you passed on the line, so one mistake never costs the whole board.
Each board you sink earns 1,000 points, the studs you pass on the board in play add up to 899 more, and clearing all three boards turns every tick left on the 118-second clock into bonus points. Because the game has a finish line it is also a race: cleared runs go on a fastest-clear board as well as the top-score board, which makes Marble Rush one of our speedrun games. The three-second hole penalty comes off the in-game clock and your score, while the fastest-clear board ranks the real time the run took. Every ranked attempt is replayed and verified on our servers before it counts.
Marble Rush plays on a phone and on a computer. On a phone you steer by tilting the device: the first time you play, your browser asks for permission to use motion; allow it and hold the phone however is comfortable, because the angle you start at counts as level. On a computer the arrow keys or WASD tilt the board the same way: tap a key for a nudge, hold it to lean all the way. You can also hold a finger or the mouse button down anywhere and drag the way you want the board to tip. It is one of our tilt games, and it is listed with the mobile games and the PC games.

Marble Rush FAQ
Is Marble Rush free to play?
Yes. Marble Rush is completely free and runs in your web browser on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to download and you don't need an account to play.
Can I play Marble Rush on my computer?
Yes. On a computer the arrow keys or WASD tilt the board: tap a key for a nudge, hold it to lean fully. You can also hold the mouse button down and drag the way you want the board to tip.
Why does my browser ask for motion access?
On a phone the game reads how you tilt the device to lean the board. Allow motion access when asked; it uses only the tilt, nothing else. If you would rather not, you can hold a finger on the screen and drag to tilt instead.
Do I need to hold my phone flat?
No. The angle you hold the phone at when the run starts counts as level, so you can play sitting upright, standing or lying down.
Are the boards the same every time?
No. There are nine boards in three tiers, and each run picks one from each tier, sometimes mirrored. The boards in a tier are tuned to take about as long as each other, so every run is equally fair.
How long does a game of Marble Rush last?
At most two minutes: the clock is 118 seconds, minus three seconds for every hole. A good run clears all three boards in under a minute, and the best players are faster still.
How is the score calculated?
Each board you finish is worth 1,000 points and the studs on the board in play add up to 899 more. Clear all three boards and every tick left on the clock becomes a bonus point, so faster, cleaner runs score more.
