About Mobile Games

Mobile games do not have to come from an app store. Every game on this page plays straight in your phone's web browser: open it, tap to start and you are playing in about a second, with no app to install, no download and no storage used up on your phone. It works the same on an iPhone, an Android phone or a tablet, in Safari, Chrome or any other modern browser.

Each game here is made to be played by touch. One-tap games such as Stackfall and Sky Flap need only a thumb, Snake Rush and Merge Minute are played with swipes, and in Block Fit and Word Search Rush you drag with a finger. Word games draw their own on-screen keyboard, so a round of Wordlock feels like typing a message. Most games are made for holding your phone upright; a few, like Neon Breaker and Putt Rush, fill the screen best with the phone turned sideways.

Every game card shows the devices a game supports. Games that also play on a computer are labelled Mobile & desktop, and nearly all of them do, even the ones built around what only a phone has. The multi-touch game Hold Fast is made for several fingers on the screen at once, holding glowing pads with up to four fingers, and on a computer every pad has its own key. Twist Fit is made for two fingers too (pinch, twist and drag a stone piece into its slot), and it also plays on a computer with the mouse and keys. The tilt games Marble Rush and Tilt Glide are steered by leaning your phone, and both also play on a computer with the arrow keys. Games that need a keyboard and mouse live on the PC games page.

No round lasts longer than two minutes, which makes these the perfect quick games for a bus ride or a queue, and the one-button games are easy to play one-handed. Try Swipe mode to flick from one game to the next, or take a Ranked attempt from any game page: every top run is replayed on our servers, so the leaderboards are just as fair on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need to download an app to play these mobile games?

No. Every game runs in your phone's web browser. There is nothing to install and nothing takes up space on your phone.

  • Do the games work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. They run in Safari, Chrome and other modern mobile browsers, on phones and tablets alike.

  • Should I hold my phone upright or sideways?

Upright for most games. Landscape games such as Neon Breaker, Putt Rush, Summit Solitaire and Type Storm are bigger with the phone turned sideways, and the game page reminds you to rotate it.

  • What does the Mobile only label mean?

It marks a game that needs something only a phone or tablet has, such as tilting the device or pressing with several fingers at once. On a computer its page shows a QR code to open it on your phone, or you can choose Play anyway.
