How to play Wordlock
Type a five-letter word on your keyboard, or tap the on-screen keys, and press Enter to guess.
Read the clues: green is the right letter in the right spot, gold is in the word but in another spot, grey is not in the word.
Use the clues to guess again. You have six tries per word, and a word that is not in the list does not use a try.
Solve the word to score, and the next word appears at once. Solve several in a row to raise your streak multiplier up to ×3.
Keep going until the two-minute clock runs out. If you miss a word, it is revealed and a new one begins.

Tips
Open with a word full of common letters, such as CRANE, SLATE or RAISE, to find the vowels and frequent consonants in one guess.
Do not wait for the perfect guess: the speed bonus fades over 30 seconds, and any word that fits the clues keeps you moving.
Watch for repeated letters. A grey copy of a letter that is also green or gold in the same guess only means the answer has no extra copy of it.
Stuck after three or four guesses with several possible words? Guess a word that tests as many of the untried letters as possible instead of changing one letter at a time.
Protect your streak: a miss resets the multiplier to ×1, so on your last try pick the most likely word, not a long shot.
Trust the keyboard colours. Grey keys are letters you can forget for this word; the keyboard resets when the next word begins.
About Wordlock
Wordlock is a free word guessing game you play in your browser: find the hidden 5-letter word in six guesses, using colour clues after every try. A green tile means the right letter in the right spot, a gold tile means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and a grey tile means it is not in the word at all. If you love the famous daily five-letter puzzle and want more than one word a day, Wordlock is a fast Wordle alternative with its own twist: the moment you crack a word, the next one drops in, and you keep going until the clock runs out.
A run lasts two minutes. Type any real five-letter word and press Enter; the row flips to reveal your clues, and the on-screen keyboard keeps track of every letter you have ruled in or out. Guesses must be real words, but a word that is not in the list simply shakes and costs you nothing, so a typo never burns a try. Answers are familiar everyday words, never obscure ones, and repeated letters follow the standard rules: a letter is only marked as many times as it appears in the answer. Use all six tries without finding the word and it is revealed, your streak resets and a new word begins, so one tough word never ends your run.
Scoring rewards sharp deduction and speed. Every solve is worth 100 points, plus 50 for each guess you had left and up to 150 for solving quickly, and a streak multiplier grows with every word you solve in a row, from ×1 up to ×3. Five clean solves in a row are worth twice as much as five scattered ones, so it pays to stay calm and keep the chain going. Play casually as often as you like, or take a ranked attempt and climb the leaderboards; every top score is verified by replaying your moves on our servers.
Wordlock works just as well on a phone as on a desktop. On a computer, type with your physical keyboard: letters appear instantly, Enter submits your guess and Backspace deletes. On a phone or tablet, tap the big on-screen QWERTY keys, sized for thumbs. There is nothing to download and no sign-up, and every run brings a brand-new set of words, so you can play again straight away.
Wordlock sits with our other word games and the word guessing games, and it is one of the best quick games for a two-minute break. If you like typing fast, browse the keyboard games; for more deduction, try the brain games or the once-a-day daily word puzzles, and see the games like Wordle and fun word games collections.

Wordlock FAQ
How long does a game of Wordlock last?
Every run lasts exactly two minutes: 118 seconds of guessing, then a short reveal of the word you were working on. Solve as many words as you can in that time.
How is the score calculated?
Each solved word earns 100 points, plus 50 for every guess you had left and up to 150 for solving it within 30 seconds. That total is multiplied by your streak: ×1 for the first solve in a row, then ×1.5, ×2, ×2.5 and ×3 from the fifth on. A missed word scores nothing and resets the streak.
What happens if I don't guess the word in six tries?
The word is revealed, your streak resets to ×1 and a new word starts immediately. Your run continues until the clock runs out.
Does an invalid word use up a guess?
No. If a word is not in the word list, the row shakes and you can fix it; only real words count as guesses. Repeating a word you already tried for the same answer does not cost a try either.
Can I play Wordlock on my phone?
Yes. Wordlock runs in any modern mobile browser with a large on-screen keyboard, and on a computer you simply type on your keyboard.
Is Wordlock the same as Wordle?
No. Wordlock is an original Gamefinity game that uses the familiar five-letter guessing idea as a timed race: you solve as many words as you can in two minutes, with streak multipliers and leaderboards, and you can play as often as you like. Wordle is a trademark of its owner.
